At Mitosis, roles aren’t just labels—they’re signals of trust, participation, and progression. Every Mitosian has a path to recognition, whether you're a DeFi explorer, creative contributor, active chatter, or Morse NFT holder. Learn more about the history of our Role System.
Our role system is structured across two distinct layers:
1. Community-Driven & On-Chain Roles
These roles form the social and identity backbone of the Mitosis ecosystem. Whether earned through consistent contributions in Discord, peer recognition and governance, or on-chain actions like NFT holding or LP participation, these roles reflect your presence, effort, and alignment with Mitosis values.
- Access & Entry Roles: Automatically granted when you read key onboarding content and participate in conversation.
- Community Contributor Roles: Assigned by Senseis and Admins. Can be upgraded through participation, peer voting, and Sensei-led governance.
- Community/Content Contributor Roles: Assigned to creators, educators, analysts, and evangelists who contribute meaningfully through art, media, research, and outreach.
- Morse Roles: Special roles tied to your on-chain connection with MORSE — the Mitosis community sidekick — earned through NFT ownership, LP activity, or campaign milestones.
2. Token-Gated Roles
Mitosis Discord includes special roles based on the tokens or NFTs you hold across supported chains. Roles are verified and claimed via the 🔮・role-verify
channel on Discord. Some roles are based on snapshots and change over time.
- Expedition & miAsset Roles: Based on your miAsset holdings or liquidity contributions across supported chains.
- Ecosystem Partner Roles: For holders of assets like EtherFi, Pendle, Renzo, and others integrated into the Mitosis economy.
- NFT Roles: Show off your identity through Ethereum or Cosmos NFTs like Pudgy Penguins, Bad Kids, or Morse.
